Trane HVAC in Mesquite, TX | Dalton Heating & Air Dallas

We provide independent Trane repair, maintenance, and replacement across Mesquite, and the one thing that separates our Trane work here is that we know the housing stock. Most Mesquite homes were built between the 1960s and 1990s, which means attic-installed air handlers, original ductwork, and systems running R-22 well past their intended lifespan. If you need a Trane diagnosed, repaired, or replaced in Mesquite, call Dalton Heating & Air Dallas at (254) 280-5320. You’ll get a written price before any work starts, every time.

Why Mesquite Residents Choose Us for Trane Service

Most HVAC companies can open a condenser and swap a capacitor. Fewer can tell you why a Trane spine-fin coil on a shaded lot in Creek Crossing fails differently than the same coil on a sun-blasted slab home in east Mesquite. Our owner, Marco Benitez, started his HVAC training at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and has spent the better part of two decades working residential and light-commercial systems across Texas, including our AC Repair in Mesquite. He builds every service call around accurate diagnosis first, quoted price second, and work that holds up third.

We’re an independent Trane service provider. That’s worth saying plainly: we are not factory-authorized, not manufacturer-affiliated, and not tied to a dealer quota. What we are is experienced with Trane’s rotary and scroll compressors, spine-fin coils, and ComfortLink II controls under North Texas heat and humidity. We show up inside the window, the price is in writing before we touch anything, and every repair carries a full-year written guarantee. If a repair fails in that window, we come back at no charge. That’s The Garrison Code we’ve worked under since 2003.

Common Trane HVAC Problems We Solve in Mesquite

  • Spine-fin condenser coil leaks on 10 – 15 year-old XR and XL units. Mesquite’s high-ozone spring air and cottonwood pollen load eat at these coils, especially on shaded lots where debris never fully bakes off. We find pinhole leaks with electronic detectors, not guesswork.
  • ComfortLink II communicating thermostat lockouts after spring storm power flickers. This is a Mesquite spring classic. A brownout or rapid power cycle knocks the XV or XL system’s low-voltage communication out of sync. It’s not a dead thermostat most of the time: it’s a full low-voltage recalibration, which we do on-site.
  • Compressor start-capacitor and contactor failures from short-cycling. Undersized return air in 1980s ranch homes makes single-stage Trane condensers cycle too often. The capacitor takes the brunt of it. We replace the part, then we check the return air, because swapping the capacitor without fixing the short-cycling means we’ll be back.
  • High head-pressure trips and frozen evaporator coils on Trane heat pumps. Attic-installed air handlers with collapsed or kinked flex duct starve the system for airflow, and the coil freezes before the compressor trips. This is one we see constantly in Mesquite, and it’s not a refrigerant problem most of the time.
  • R-22 systems at end-of-life. A lot of original Trane XR series condensers in Mesquite still run R-22, and that refrigerant is expensive and being phased out. We’ll recharge when it makes sense and tell you straight when a new system is the better money.

Trane Service in Mesquite: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Here’s the thing about Mesquite that doesn’t apply to Garland, Rowlett, or most of the newer suburbs: the original flex duct in homes built in the 1970s through 1990s has been baking in attic heat for decades. In Creek Crossing and Valley Creek specifically, we find collapsed duct runs on almost every retrofit call. A sweating supply plenum, the metal box above the air handler that actually sweats because cold air is backing up behind a restriction, is the telltale sign that a Trane system is starving for return air. That’s not a compressor problem. It’s a duct problem that eventually becomes a compressor problem if it runs long enough.

Last July our tech pulled a Trane XL16i from a two-story brick home off Peachtree Road in Creek Crossing where the homeowner complained the upstairs never cooled. The attic flex duct had kinked and collapsed right at the supply plenum, causing the evaporator to freeze and the compressor to cycle on high head pressure. We replaced the collapsed duct runs, recharged the R-410A to Trane spec, and verified an 18-degree delta across the coil. The upstairs dropped to 72 degrees within the hour. That’s the kind of thing most service calls miss entirely.

Trane Models & Products We Service in Mesquite

We work on Trane’s full residential lineup. That includes the XR14 and XR16, the entry and mid-tier straight-cool condensers you see all over 1990s Mesquite replacements, the XL16i and XL18i two-stage units in newer retrofits, and the XV18 and our Heat Pump Installation in Mesquite with the XV20i variable-speed inverter heat pumps going into homes where ducted retrofits aren’t practical. We also service the S9V2 and S9X1 gas furnaces, which are common pairings with older coils in Mesquite’s ranch homes.

On parts, our approach is straightforward. We install genuine Trane OEM components, spine-fin coils, run capacitors, ignitors, when longevity matters. For out-of-warranty basics like contactors and pressure switches, we use top-tier aftermarket parts that meet or exceed factory spec and we’ll tell you which we’re using and why. We don’t push OEM on a part that doesn’t need it, and we don’t cut corners on parts that do.

Trane Service Pricing in Mesquite

Here’s what Trane service actually costs in Mesquite, based on the work we do week in and week out. Your exact price gets quoted in writing before we start, and that written price doesn’t move.

HVAC technician performing professional furnace repair and maintenance on a residential furnace in Mesquite, TX
Service Typical Price Range
Trane AC Repair (capacitor, contactor, minor leak) $150 – $650
Trane Furnace Repair (ignitor, gas valve, board) $150 – $700
Trane AC Installation (full system, 14 – 18 SEER) $3500 – $7500
Trane Preventive Maintenance Tune-Up $80 – $200

What drives the cost is the part and the access. A capacitor on a ground-level condenser is a quick job. A TXV buried in an attic air handler takes longer, and a coil replacement on a mature oak lot with restricted access adds labor. A free estimate includes diagnosis, a written price, and a straight answer on repair versus replace. Call (254) 280-5320 and Marco will tell you what it costs, in writing, before we start.
